Important Announcement Regarding Virence Health

,
Virence athenahealth breaking news!

Today we announced some exciting news. Our partner, Veritas Capital, has agreed to acquire athenahealth, a leading provider of network-enabled services for hospital and ambulatory clients nationwide. As part of the acquisition, Virence and athenahealth will combine to form a true leader in healthcare IT. Once the transaction closes, which we expect in the first quarter of 2019, our Workforce Management business will separate as a standalone company, operating under the API Healthcare brand.

You are likely familiar with athenahealth and the strong reputation its products and services have in the market. Combining the athenahealth team, technology and solutions with our platform will greatly strengthen our ability to support you across the continuum of care, and we will remain focused on investing in innovation – building on everything that you have already come to appreciate about Virence. We are also committed to providing you with seamless support throughout this process, and our current products will continue to be available and operate in the same manner they do now.

Until the transaction closes, it will be business as usual, and Virence and athenahealth will continue operating as separate businesses. Following the close of the transaction, I will have the honor of leading the combined company, which will assume the athenahealth brand and be headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts.

If you have any questions or concerns about the combination, please don’t hesitate reach out to your Virence representative.

Supporting your success and improved patient outcomes are our highest priorities, and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. I look forward to embarking on our next chapter together, and hope you are as excited as we are about the significant benefits that this combination will bring for you and all of our customers.

Regards,

Bob Segert
